This is a truly amazing bird. The Lyre bird can copy many other species of bird's song. What's more, it is can copy other man made sounds that it hears! This clip captures among others, its impression of a car alarm, a camera and a chainsaw!!
He also has gorgeous plumage.

Capybara

This little cutie is a Capybara, a close relation to the guinea pig. Like guinea pigs, the originate in south American countries like Peru. Can you imagine having a dog sized guinea pig? Wow!!

I do love otters. I'm reading Ring of Bright Water at the moment by Gavin Maxwell. You may be familiar with the film. It is the story of a man living in a remote area of Scotland with his pet otter, Mij. I'd love a pet otter, but Mij sounds like a bit of a handful to say the least!

Baby Woodpecker

Technically not a small furry in the small furry sense but it is super cute. My partner Stuart told me a story about when he once found a baby woodpecker in a busy Glasgow street. The bird rescue centre said he was very, very rare in Scotland.

Sea Otters

Hello? What's this all about?

I love small furries. By small furries I mean small animals, particularly guinea pigs. I have two girls, Bosshog and Buttercup.

But I love other small animals, domestic and wild. Rabbits, otters, badgers, anything quadruped and cute.
I love reading about animals and looking at pictures of them. Sometimes I come across images which are just too cute and gorgeous and have to be shared! This blog is just for that. A place for me to get my cute animal picture fix :-)
So on with the blog and a couple of pictures that I came across today of cute animals.
